Windows 7 is Dead

The End is Here

For many, Windows 7 has been their favorite version of Microsoft’s operating systems since Windows XP. Many of our customers have been hesitant to make the move to Windows 10 after the massive failure on Microsoft’s part to properly execute Windows 8, and 8.1.

Whether you know it or not, if you are running 7 on your current setup, you are already living on life support. Windows 7 is currently in extended support faze. That will end on January 14, 2020.

This is a huge issue for businesses, as it is absolutely necessary that a business receive security updates from Microsoft. A huge chunk of keeping your business safe is patching your systems with these updates and having a good, reliable anti-virus: see here.

However, if you are a home user or a side gig legend that has to have a windows system, you will very much need to upgrade as well. Keeping a Windows system patched will help you to avoid system failure, viruses, and malware.

Windows Through the Years

If you are a long-time Windows user, you will be very familiar with this process. Microsoft has went through several versions of Windows over the years, but this isn’t limited to them. The mac OS, as well as Linux operating systems must update to keep up with protocols, new hardware and technology, as well as the security dangers I listed earlier.

If you are ready to upgrade your system to Windows 10, stop by and see us. If you don’t live in East Tennessee, give a reliable repair shop a call and see what your best options are.
